Vallferrera, is a beautiful corner of the Catalan Pyrenees.
Taking the road which follows the course of the river Noguera Vallferrera, you enter an isolated and unspoilt valley. On your way up the valley, you pass through small villages whose traditional character has been preserved. They have hardly been touched by modern development and so maintain their harmony with their surroundings. The last of these villages is Àreu (altitude 1220m) where the valley opens up to present a picturesque mountain landscape.

Situated at the top of the village of Àreu, Camping Pica d'Estats lies on the banks of the river at the foot of the mountain Monteixo. It is a small and friendly campsite, sheltered by shady avenues of trees. The campsite offers excellent facilities, including a swimming pool, cabins, bar-cafeteria, restaurant, children's play area and ample washing, laundry and shower facilities.

Camping Pica d'Estats is an ideal base for hiking and mountaineering. It provides access to Catalonia´s highest peak, the Pica d'Estats (3143 m) and also to many other mountains including Sotllo (3075 m), Monteixo (2905 m), Pic de Baborte (2938 m), Pic de Salòria (2782 m) and Pic de Norís (2834 m). Nearby, you can also indulge in other adventure sports including rafting, canyoning and canoeing or enjoy more tranquil pursuits such as horse riding and fishing.
